Faster Videos in Firefox

June 14, 2010 Leave a comment
Here’s a cool trick to watch flash videos faster on firefox.
1.Type about:config in the adress bar
2.Use the filter box to find the setting browser.sessionstore.interval
3.Edit the default value 10000 (10 seconds in million seconds)
to 180000 which is 3 min

How does the tweak work?

Firefox takes snapshots of ur browser every 10 sec to restore iffirefox crashes but slows flash too so this is a slight compromise forfast videos.

Enjoy Mates!!!

Download from Megaupload (with resume)

September 18, 2009 Leave a comment

Hello friends..
Well I had a big problem downloading files from
megaupload.. but now there is a hack for this.
u don’t have to install tat stupid toolbar nor wait for hours.
if your a Firefox user u can download as soon as u punch the link in.
it will not ask u to download toolbar but directly take u to the code..

Here is a crack/trick for Megaupload which stops the message “All download slots… assigned to your country are in use…” from appearing while downloading a file.
Only with Firefox 2.0 (because I have tested on mine)
Here is solution:

-Go to address bar and type: about:config (Firefox only)

-Search for general.useragent.extra.firefox

-Double click on it
-Change the default text with this: Firefox/2.0 MEGAUPLOAD 1.0

-or if you are using Firefox 2.0.0.4 version type next: Firefox/2.0.0.4 MEGAUPLOAD 1.0

-Start Downloading witout any Toolbar

This is so easy and within seconds u can resume ur download from Megaupload.

——–ANOTHER WAY———

Working for ALL BROSWERS

Having problems with downloading from MEGADOWNLOAD site

use this trick & it is working 100%

Follow THESE instructions if you use IE

1.Go to Start and click Run, then type regedit.

2. Go to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTW ARE\Micros oft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Internet Settings\User Agent\Post Platform]

3. Right click on Post Platform > New > String Value.

4. Keep “Alexa Toolbar” as a name for the string. Don’t do anything else, or else it won’t work.

This tricks the MegaUpload site into believing that you have Alexa Toolbar installed on your PC.

You better do this quickly, because MegaUpload will soon find out about this

Working for FIREFOX ONLY

Boost Your Firefox Browser speed with your Broadband

September 17, 2009 Leave a comment

Yes,I know firefox is already the faster one but still we can make it more faster and reliable, use this below hack and enjoy
In the URL bar, type “about:config” and press enter(with out quotes). This will bring up the configuration “menu” where you can change the parameters of Firefox.

Note that these are what I’ve found to REALLY speed up my Firefox significantly – and these settings seem to be common among everybody else as well. But these settings are optimized for broadband connections – I mean with as much concurrent requests we’re going to open up with pipelining… you’d better have a big connection.

Double Click on the following settins and put in the numbers below – for the true / false booleans – they’ll change when you double click.
Code:
browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs – true
network.http.max-connections – 48
network.http.max-connections-per-server – 16
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy – 8
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server – 4
network.http.pipelining – true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests – 100
network.http.proxy.pipelining – true
network.http.request.timeout – 300

One more thing… Right-click somewhere on that screen and add a NEW -> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0”. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. Since you’re broadband – it shouldn’t have to wait.
Now you should notice you’re loading pages MUCH faster now

Browse WAP Sites in Firefox

September 9, 2009 Leave a comment

It suddenly happened to me whilst visiting a mobile site that I was not able to browse it using my vanilla Firefox at my college PC.A quick look at the wild wild FireFoxweb got me an acceptable solution, and I got WMLBROWSER extension for Firefox..

This addon simulates WAP browsing by viewing WML (Wireless Markup Language) pages. Its a must for guys like me who are not happy with the WAP emulators.Although Firefox allows for minimalistic WAP browsing, but some stubborn pages need special addons like WMLBROWSER for proper WAP display

Download WMLBROWSER

Download mp3 and videos from any site

September 9, 2009 Leave a comment

Did you know that you can download mp3, video and other files from almost any website with just a little effort ? All you need is Firefox, the Firefox extension Firebug and a download manager. This knowledge is especially helpful if the tools you normally use to download videos, mp3 or flash games does not work on a website.

Download Firebug is actually a great web development extension for Firefox which does also list all objects that are loaded with their full url on the server. I suppose you are already seeing where this is going, huh ? You just have to take a look at the objects and filter out the largest files which are most of the time the media files. Copy the url from that file and paste it into your download manager to download the mp3, video or other media file.

Let me give you an example on how to download a mp3 right from myspace. Make sure you have the firebug extension installed.

Visit myspace.com and click on a band’s website, e.g. http://myspace.com/theused
Open Firebug by pressing F12
Play a song
Check the NET tab in Firebug and search for the biggest file
Copy the location of that file (by right-clicking it) and paste it into your download manager.
Rename the file and give it the right file extension, in this case .mp3

download mp3 from myspace

This method can be used on almost every other site that offers media files. Want some examples ? Gametrailers, Myspace, Youtube, Armor Games and many more. It is not working with sites that stream content to your PC (like Internet Radio but all others should be fine.)
